HOLLERDAYZ

Good morning, folks.
Just chyillin' - enjoying Winter Break more than I can say.
Like enjoying it so hard, that I am still in my jammies and unbathed (YOLO).

I received my grades last night on my Fall 2014 term and was fairly pleased.
B+ in Anatomy and Physiology (I really, really, really wanted an A).
And an A in Soc 204.
C'est la vie - I'm glad I did fairly well.
But since Nursing School is so darn competitive, A's are desired.
Luckily, Lane Community College changed their nursing application last year. It is based off a point system. So now a B in Anatomy and Physiology is equal to the amount of points an A is. The only thing it effects is your GPA. So fingers crossed that some other peeps score a B here and there in their classes.

Hmmmm...what else?
The Hollerdayz are in full swing. Let me tell you what, losing weight is not easy this time of year.
I have embarked on a 6-week journey of no drinking. Gotta cut those calories somewhere - and sometimes, prime rib > wine (I'm shocked I said it too).
Should be good for me though...tracking points on Weight Watchers not only includes the foods you eat, but the drinks you consume as well.
And unfortunately things like wine, whiskey, and yummy Holiday drinks at Starbucks are filled with points. Boooooo.

The season is about to get busy here soon - starting this weekend. So if you need me, I'll be soaking up my laziness all the live long day.

And what blog is complete without a pic (or two)...
Rosalie and I ready to take in some Christmas lights on a limo ride.
Yes, she got some red lipstick, too :)

And just one more...because CUTE!!

Hope I find you jolly & well!

Annual 30 Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving Eve!

I just pulled my apple pie out of the oven (at 9:40pm - such a procrastinator) and thought I'd write out the things I am thankful for this year.
You may recall last year's 30 Thanks post (or not, whatever)...well here is this year's 30 Thanks!
Without further ado...

1. (I feel like you know what I'm going to put as number one) Rosalie (SURPRISE!)
2. Shawn...2013 was the year from hell. But it got us to where we are today which is something I thank my lucky stars for.
3. My mom and dad. They just keep gettin' better and better.
4. My wonderful, insanely awesome friends. I sincerely don't know what I would do without my girls (and boys).
5. Music. For the love of God, MUSIC.
6. Being one badass student.
7. Losing my job to become one badass student.
8. Moving into a larger apartment (amen.).
9. The fact that Shawn is able to provide for Rosalie and I. Allowing me to commit my time to raising our daughter and going to school full time.
10. Marcus Mariota...maybe he should be #1 (move over Rosalie).
11. Paying off debt.
12. Witnessing some truly beautiful weddings this year. I LOVE weddings.
13. That said ^^^, I am also thankful for the people who have your back after an open bar at said wedding.
14. Netflixxxxxxxxxxxxx
15. Chardonnay.
16. Whiskey.
17. Weight Watchers...4 points for a glass of Chard and 2 points for 1 oz. of Whiskey...in case you were curious.
18. Sunday night Walking Dead parties with Mallory, Sarah, & Kyle. Seriously - I look forward to them every week.
19. Shawn's pesto. It's to die for.
20. That I quit smoking. I smell so much better now.
21. That my parents installed a love of reading in me.
22. The Pell Grant.
23. My Macbook. I'm sorry I spilled on you Macbook, I didn't mean it.
24. My bed. Oh, my glorious bed.
25. Costco Membership. Easily the best thing of 2014.
26. Having a partner that is my best friend.
27. Dermalogica.
28. That Shawn's family is my family too.
29. Learning that not wearing a bra in public is not a good idea. I did this way too often back in my early 20s. Sorry Devor.
30. Pitch Perfect 2

Happy Thanksgiving from ours to yours.

Miss Rosalie Faye

Yo, party people!
I'm just chillin', so obvi I thought I'd blog like a bauce for you.

Here's the haps:
ROSALIE TURNED THREE!!!!!
She is the cutest.
The sweetest.
The funniest.
The whiniest.
The pickiest

And the best thing to ever happen to me.
By a landslide.

She made out like a bandit with gifts.
Seriously, I would kill to be three again. She got all the Princess/Doc McStuffins/clothing/noise making presents you could ever need.
#jeallllllly

Shawn made a rule that we had to wait until Rosalie was three to get her haircut.
I held him to it.
His momma cut about 4 inches off the back & it looks soooooo much healthier and thicker.
Yay!
Rosalie did really well too, no freak outs.

Well, this post was all about my goose, but she's pretty much been the star of the week.
Cheers!

Urgent Care

Shawn thinks he has an ear infection.
Therefore the Hiskey-Hogan clan has taken up residence at the local Urgent Care.
We're having the time of our lives.
(I am DYING of boredom, so I thought I'd blog.)

Last night Shawn and I had a little date night.
We got dinner at Plank Town Brewery and it was phenom-bomb.
He was chewing while I tried to take a selfie. Hence the awesome pic.
I got the "dirty salad" - arugula, chèvre, filberts, cucumber, & steak with a balsamic dressing. DELISH.
We also had these to start...
Garlic-herb hand cut fries that they double fry AKA heaven.
And then, since we're wild, we got dessert...
Dear God.
Oregon marionberry struedel with vanilla ice cream.
Lordy, Lordy.

After dinner, we headed to Toys 'r' Us and Barnes & Nobel to do our birthday shopping for Ro.
We maybe went a tiny bit overboard.
Luckily I don't have to wrap it all - my bestie is currently at my apt. wrapping everything for me.

Thanks Sarah, you're the best little elf.

Anyyyywayyyy, I think I'm going to go try and bribe the employees with drugs to get Shawn in faster.
Wish me luck!

I'm baaaaaackkkkkk (hopefully)

So, I downloaded that "Time Hop" app and it keeps showing me old blog posts...
And I kind of miss blogging.
I feel like after I lost my job, I lost a lot of motivation to do a lot of things (aside from going back to school, renewing my relationship with Shawn, and of course being mother of the century).
But in all reality, I'd like to see if I can get back into it.

So what's the haps?

-I am still taking my pre-reqs for nursing. I am currently taking Anatomy & Physiology - so if you have any questions about the coronoid processes or bone ossification, I'm your girl.

-I finally hit a "I reeeeeally don't feel comfortable in my own skin" (again) wall, so I joined Weight Watchers. It worked for me like gold in high school & so I said YOLO and signed up.

-My daughter is turning 3 on Sunday (11/9) and it's making me feel OLD. Like, what!?! I'm 26 & I have a 3 year old? Guaranteed you ask me 10 years ago what I'd be doing at 26, it would be getting ready to bite the dust at age 27 like a rock god...not planning a princess themed birthday party for the cutest kid in the world.

ANYWAY. As the Hollerdayz creep up on us again, I'm going to be riding the WW train like a champ & doing my best to enjoy myself but in moderation (food, not booze...jk, jk).
Let's see if I can continue to update all y'all on my latest adventure.

Now. What's a blog post without a very random photo dump?
Without further ado....

Sassy, classy and a bit lot smart-assy.

Football season is in full swing.

Me, Shawn, and Heidi celebrating her dirty-thirty.

My Christmas wish list
(^^^MOOOOOMMMMMMYYYYY)

Hop Valley fun. No worries, RoBo is chugging water not beer.
Unlike me.

Our fridge on any given day.
Because we're all about those dranks, 'bout those dranks, no solids.

And lastly, the Little Mermaid in all her glory.

Okay, that about sums it up.
Hopefully see you soon. No promises - don't wanna ruin my spectacular karma.

I Love My Ducks

Well, it's that time of the year again: FOOTBALL SEASON.

Last night, Shawn & I attended our first Duck game of the year and had a great time.
Since Shawn works for Columbia we are fortunate to attend a catered tailgate with yummy food and lots of beer (for free!).
That on top of the tickets my dad gave us made for a cheap night ;)
We roped Shawn's sister into watching Rosalie for us and then she spent the night with his mom - allowing us to have a faux-date night.

Shawn & I, tailgating.

Walker, Niki, & I at the Columbia tailgate.

Later on, we walked over to Shawn's aunt's tailgate to meet up with her & her kids.
Attractive, huh? ;)

We had walked from our apartment down to Autzen Stadium with a group a friends and me (being the idiot that I am) wore boots.
OH. MY. GAWD.
So many blisters. Walking home last night may have been worse than labor pains.
And I am super sore today - my poor feeties took a beating. Remind me to NEVER do that again.

Once we finally made it in to the stadium, we were thrilled to see our Oregon Ducks back in action.
I think it's going to be a really great season and am personally SO EXCITED to play Michigan St. next week.
I hope the saying "where great teams go to die" reigns true!

Welp folks, I hope I find you all well...
Oh, wait. I'll just leave this here for you - in case you needed a little pick me up:

New recipe!

Hi gang!
I just wanted to share a yummy summer recipe with y'all.
I found it today via Facebook or BuzzFeed or some other source of social media...

ANYWAY.
You need about a pound of cooked, shredded chicken (I did mine in the crockpot with some chicken broth for about 3 hours on high)...

I chilled my chicken in the fridge after I took it out of the crockpot - meanwhile I prepped the rest of the stuff.
Half of a red onion, chopped.
About 15 grapes, sliced in half.
A box of craisins (the little mini boxes).
Half an apple, chopped.
1/4 cup sliced almonds.
1/2 cup plain, nonfat Greek yogurt.
The juice of a lemon.
Garlic powder, salt, & pepper.

Mix it all together & put it on a bun!
Easy-peasy lemon squeezy.

Angles are EVERYTHING

Whoa, two days in a row??!?!?!

Today I am going to talk about angles. You see, in this wonderful world (irony), we have filters, editing shit, cropping, and the beauty of taking selfies so when the first one sucks the 100th one will be perfect.
I think I have done a pretty good job of hiding my weight gain from the people who don't see me in person.
So, I apologize for omitting the truth from y'all.

Yesterday I promised you guys some pics.
Here goes nothin'...

Proof I have started working out again
(the ugly-in-the-car-after-the-gym-selfie)

Shawn is working on his angles here.
Look at dem jaw bones.

I MEAN...

Rosalie also has a real flair for selfies.

CROPPED.
GOOD ANGLE.
(drunk)

Whoa nelly.
Bad angle. Hellor arms!

And the cutest girl in the world who don't need no cropping, angles, or filters.

So there you have it.
A collection of pics that prove that angles are everything.
Luckily, I am on day 3 of logging food on MFP and working out so I don't need to worry so much about my angles!

Starting Over

I let go, guys.
I completely lost all motivation and any desire I had to achieve a fit/healthy/happy life.
Not to say I'm not happy! Because I am - I am in love, my friends and family are doing great things, I have the best child one could ask for, and I am kicking ass at school...but with all those things, I stopped working out, started eating what and whenever I wanted, and the alcohol - oh, the alcohol.
When I first started losing weight, I cut out alcohol, because well...empty calories and the "I don't care, I'm going to eat because I am drinking" mentality.
All that on top of quitting smoking, and I'm only 10 lbs. lighter than I was when I first decided to lose weight.
You do the math.

The plan?
I joined the gym and I've started back on MFP (follow me, greener3313).
I am so happy with my life and how it's all turning out - but I am uncomfortable in my own skin.
I don't like pictures of me and I don't like any of my clothes.
Why is it so hard to manage this lifestyle?
The sad part is, is every time you lose weight and then gain it back - it's twice as hard to lose it again. So bear with me on this endeavor.
I think that blogging on a regular basis helped me last time, so I'm going to try and get back to that as much as possible.

That all being said, I need your guys' help!
Harass me about blogging, harrass me about what I'm eating...y'all know I'm an open book and my fans (haha) help me with staying consistent and honest.

Hope I find you well! See you tomorrow. WITH PICS.

It's too damn early. YOLO.

Oh my GAWD. I am awake at 4:45 am.
I blame Shawn (he has to get to work hella ((yes, I just said hella)) early & this morning he woke me up with his loud-man ways).
So here we are - I'm watching Cuthroat Kitchen, drinking coffee, & thought, I guess I'll blog!
(And by blog I mean post a bunch of pics - like usual)

Let's rewind to a couple of weeks ago...
Shawn & I took Rosalie to Florence for the day.
It was her first time at the coast!

She was a little skeptical at first, but got over it real quick.

Obviously had to get the classic beach-foot pic.
Shawn had no idea how to do it.
It was ridiculous.

After a while, we drove up to Newport to take RoBo to the aquarium.
HOLY COW! She looooooved it.

Is that not the most adorbs sea star you've ever seen?
She said she was Patrick (from SpongeBob SquarePants).

About a week later, Rosalie got to spend the weekend with Gramma & Grandpa.
She got her first tricycle (or as she likes to call it, her motorcycle - girl can't even pedal).

I chopped my hair again.
Ohmygerrrrd, feels so good.
#momhairdontcare

While Ro stayed with my parents, I headed up to Clackamas to cohost my friend Rachel's Lingerie Shower.
Luke (^^^^) was super helpful.

Me, Luke, & his wife Lame.
We were delirious at this point, I think.

And here's a selfie.

And here's another one.

And here is a pic of Rachel (the bride to be), me & Niki.
I didn't take anymore pictures because I was busy drinking.
Sorrrrrry.

When I got home from up north, Shawn and I had a busy day of graduation parties, Messy Church, and hanging with his fambam.
We may have both been a little hung over (hence the awesome smiles).

Braden, my nephew, is obsessed with YOLO.
I find it funny. He sidewalk-chalked #YOLO at Messy Church.
Word, man.

A few days later, Shawn & Ro had a daddy-daughter date.
He sent me the creepiest pic of her eating ice cream.
THAT'S MY GIRL! You can't expect us to try & look cute when we are eating!

Um, I got a manicure.

And then a few more days later, we took the kids to the family day/rodeo prep/thingie.
They had a blast.

Katelyn, Braden, & Rosalie.

RoBo got her face painted.
She did really well, I was impressed.

Her red horse *which she requested*

We were trying to get Rosalie to look at Katelyn (because they had matching horses), but home-girl is a ham and had to cheese for the camera.
#YOLO

She loved sitting on the fake horses!

And that's been my summer so far.
It's been great!
We are going to the Rodeo on Thursday evening. I've never been to a rodeo. I'm gonna love it or I'm gonna hate it. Either way, I really need cowboy boots (Shawn disagrees) (YOLO).

Well, I'm gonna get back to my Cuthroat Kitchen and my coffee.
Hope everyone is enjoying summmmmmmmaaaatiiiiiiiime!

Okay, okay one more:

CUTEST THING EVER.
